I have been working as a faculty member (Professor) at my home (Tehran-Iran) for roughly two decade. After the first graduation at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMUS), Tehran-Iran (Doctor of Medical Laboratory Sciences-DCLS), I continued my studies abroad at the University of Bristol (United Kingdom) for my PhD degree. Then I returned to my homeland and I had been working for Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization (IBTO) as the faculty member of IBTO Research Center simultaneously in charge of education and research department at IBTO. I was a member of World Health Organization Advisory Panel for Blood Safety (GCBS), during 2006-2012. Then I moved to SBUMS as the second largest medical university and the second top-ranked medical university in Iran. The SBUMS began its mission in 1961 with establishing the School of Medicine. Presently, the university benefits from 13 schools admitting students in a wide and varied range of fields. Also, it benefits from 1400 faculty members and 12 university hospitals, which educate and train more than 13000 students at different levels. Since 1988, and following the merger of Ministry of Health with Medical Education, Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences is honored to have the responsibility of providing, maintaining and promoting the health of more than 5,250,000 residents of Tehran, the capital of Iran, and the neighboring cities in Eastern and Southern Tehran Province, together with training students of many different health-related majors. In 2012, I promoted to full professor based on my academic and research profiles according to my country and university guidelines and regulations. I was the head of laboratory hematology and blood bank department for 6 years. This department is responsible to educate some courses of students studying Medical Laboratory Sciences and the most courses of those students studying Laboratory Hematology and Blood Bank at MSc& PhD levels. Since this department has been established in 2013 at SBUMS, it has been approved for education of the students in Laboratory Hematology and Blood Bank at PhD discipline. My responsibilities include educating and training students in different disciplines including students at Medical Laboratory Sciences at BA discipline, students of Laboratory Hematology and Blood Bank at MSc and PhD disciplines, supervising post-graduate students, conducting approved research proposals , improving our educational department and working as the member of editorial board of some medical journals. In addition, I served as Dean of School of Allied Medical Sciences at my university since February, 2018 until June 2020. I am member of International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) From 2004 (continued). It is worth-mentioning that I was elected as International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) Regional Director Eastern Mediterranean for the period 2014-2018. Also, I served as a member of Board of Advisors at Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization (IBTO) from 2018-2021. The Blood Transfusion High Council (IBTO) consists of five professionals in blood transfusion sciences and practice field. In meantime, I have been working as Executive Director of Iranian Society of Transfusion Sciences since 2017, as Member of Advisory Panel for Laboratory Hematology and Transfusion Sciences at Iran mystery of Health and Medical Education since 2005 and Executive Director of Advisory Panel for Laboratory Hematology and Transfusion Sciences at Iran mystery of Health and Medical Education From 2019. Now, I am full professor of Clinical Immunohematology in Laboratory Hematology & Blood Bank Educational Department at the SBUMS, where I served as head of department for 6 yeas and as Dean of School of Allied Medical Sciences at my university since February, 2018 until June 2020. I have never been a moment apart from the issues of blood safety and transfusion medicine both during my tenures in IBTO and university. I have been living with transfusion medicine since the years back at my 20s. It is a field in which you can find society, community, psychology, economics, industry, habits, faith and dedication and I do enjoy it. I am from a region where we still need to make more dreams to come true: safer blood and more accessibility. I am coming from a region thirsty of development for a brighter future in transfusion medicine. More steps required for boosting education and research and filling the voids. It is ready for cooperation and commitment. I in any position as an academic consider myself committed to work for it. I have the honor to have precious friends who have always grasped my hands for cooperation and engagement, a sort of engagement that would be prosperous for all of us caring for blood, caring for patients, caring for a safer world. Finally, I am also interested in Clinical Immunology, Clinical hematology, and Cancer Biology alongside Transfusion Practice.
