Bio
Alexander Gottwald was born in 1968. He received the diploma in
physics and the doctoral degree in natural sciences (Dr. rer. nat) from the Technical University Berlin (TUB), Berlin,
Germany, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. From 1994 to 1998, he was a Research Associate at the Institute for Atomic
and Analytical Physics at the TUB working in the field of atomic and ionic hotoionization processes. From 1999 to
2002, he was a Postdoctoral Scientist at Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Braunschweig, Germany, in the
X-ray radiometry working group with the focus on metrology for extreme ultraviolet imaging systems.
Since 2003, he has been a Staff Scientist at PTB in Berlin, and since 2009 the head of the UV and VUV Radiometry
Working Group. His fields of work include methods for characterization of materials, detectors, and optical components
using radiometric and spectroscopic.
