Angelo Carpi

Angelo Carpi was born in Italy in 1948. He received the Laurea degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in 1972. From 1972 to 1986, he was a Clinical Researcher at the University Hospital of Pisa, Pisa, Italy. Since 1984, he has been an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Pisa. From 1997 to 2003, he was a Vice-Director of the Postgraduate School of Endocrinology of the Medical Faculty, University of Pisa. His main fields of research and clinical activity concern thyroid and breast tumors, male infertility, and vascular endothelium. He has been recently involved in research on biomaterials, as the Director of a unit in a National Research Council (CNR) project on biomaterials. He is the author of about 200 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. Mr. Carpi was named the internationally “recognized authority” by the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Haifa, Haifa, Israel. He is the editor of the scientific journal Biomedicine & Pharmacotherapy.
