Albert C. G. Melo

Albert C. Geber de Melo (SM'05) received the D.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC/RJ), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1990. Since 1985, he has been with CEPEL, the Brazilian Electric Power Research Center, working with the coordination and development of projects and software in the areas of power system reliability, generation and transmission planning under uncertainties, efficient cost allocation methods, and economic and financial evaluation of projects including risk analysis. He is also an Associate Professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Dr. Melo is an active member of CIGRÉ and several Brazilian Working Groups.
