Suzanne Randolph Cunningham, Ph.D. is Chief Science Officer at The MayaTech Corporation, an applied public health researcher and federal contractor in Silver Spring, MD. She also holds an appointment as Associate Professor Emerita in Family Science at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. She was awarded the James E. Jones Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Psychological Association and the distinction as Distinguished Psychologist from The Association of Black Psychologists, Inc. She has conducted several community-based participatory research and evaluation projects on various public health issues (substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, COVID-19, pediatrics vaccination, HPV, women’s health, community violence, oral health, and obesity prevention). She also evaluates systems-level initiatives in the areas of research infrastructure enhancements at HBCUs, workforce development for racial/ethnic minority researchers, artificial intelligence to advance health equity, and the influences of social determinants on health and mental health. Her other research interests include maternal and child health, early childhood development, and parent-child interactions, including fathering.
