个人简介
Nils Markus Stenvig received the B.S.E.E., MBA, and M.S.E.E. degrees from Michigan Technological University in 2008, 2010, and 2011, respectively. Nils is presently employed at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Energy and Environmental Sciences Directorate; Electrical and Electronics Systems Research Division; Power and Energy Systems Research team. He has held engineering positions with International Transmission Company (ITC Transmission), Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative, and American Transmission Company, and was a student scholar at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). As an undergraduate, Nils conducted research under a NSF fellowship—spending a summer at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, Norway. His research work during this time was primarily in areas of transformer testing, harmonics, capacitor bank switching, and fault transients. As a graduate student, Nils performed research funded by LLNL focused in electromagnetic transient modelling and broadband over powerlines. His engineering roles with American Transmission Company included Transmission Planning Engineer, Operations Engineer, and Substation Maintenance Engineer over the course of six years. His industry experiences have included regional blackout investigation/root cause analysis, seasonal operations studies, outage planning studies, tornado damage recovery, equipment failure analysis, asset management, work planning, GIC blocking device installation, substation security enhancement, generator interconnection and retirement studies, and specialty transient analysis cases. Nils has varying levels of proficiency in power system modeling tools and programming languages: ATP/ATPDraw (EMTP based time domain software), PSS/E LF & Dynamics, ASPEN, MatLab, Power World Simulator, AutoCad, POM-OPM, CASCADE, Oracle, Alstom EMS, Python, Labview, RTDS RSCAD.
