Emily Carmen Azevedo

Carmen Azevedo is a PhD student in the Department of Biology and Biomedical Sciences in the cancer biology program at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She graduated from Oberlin College in 2015 with a degree in biochemistry and did both analytical chemistry research and French translation work. Carmen then worked as a radiochemist in the Cyclotron and Radiochemistry Facility and a molecular imaging research lab in the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford for several years. Her preclinical and clinical research in the molecular imaging field inspired her to pursue a PhD in cancer biology where she hopes to develop imaging probes for the detection of cancer.
