Brown’s research interests involve improving end-of-life care for patients with end-stage liver disease through the use of palliative care. She is also actively involved in identifying health disparities in vulnerable populations and expanding the concept of value-based care for patients with liver diseases.

She also completed a Clinical Research Institute fellowship at Duke. She understands the needs and expectations of the trainees, and she is an excellent teacher and mentor for trainees with both clinical and research interests.
