I specialize in numerical and experimental fluid mechanics and its application in energy and hydrogen storage systems. In collaboration with researchers in the field of energy and hydrogen storage systems, I explore innovative approaches to hydrogen storage utilizing slurry electrodes. To address research questions in this area, I harness cutting-edge technologies such as complex microfluidics which facilitates the real-time visualization of the fundamental processes involved in the operation of energy storage systems.
Throughout my research, I have achieved significant milestones. I developed a Computational Fluid Dynamics-Discrete Element Method (CFD-DEM) model as well as a sophisticated microfluidics setup fabrication. These platforms have made noteworthy contributions, such as modelling the charge transfer process in slurry electrodes, visualizing the evolution and storage of hydrogen in carbon particles, and enhancing our understanding of the proton flow reactor system as a novel electrochemical hydrogen storage system. Ultimately, these advancements aim to design and create an integrated system for storing electricity generated from renewable energy sources and exporting the stored energy in the form of hydrogen stored within hydrogenated carbon-based materials.
