Dr. Davis’ research interest is in clinical trials, focusing on statistical and clinical trial methodology. He has been a PI or Co-I on over $250 million in research funding including serving as PI/ Director of the Antihypertensive and Lipid-Lowering to Prevent Heart Attack Trial (ALLHAT) and the Cardiovascular-Based Cell Therapy Research Network (CCTRN) Coordinating Centers. He also has been the Principal Investigator of the coordinating center for several other major large scale randomized trials. Dr. Davis has over 300 publications in both statistics and medical/public health journals. He served as President of the Society for Clinical Trials (1999-2000), Chair of the Biometrics Section of the American Statistical Association (2003) and was twice Presidential nominee of ENAR. Dr. Davis currently serves on the FDA Cardiovascular and Renal Drugs Advisory Committee (2013- 2020). He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, the Society for Clinical Trials, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology and Prevention, the American College of Preventive Medicine, and the American Society of Hypertension, and is a member of the International Statistical Institute.
