Olfa Ezzine

Holder of a HDR in March 2023, in Agricultural Sciences from Institut National Agronomique de Tunisie (INAT) in plant protection. I studied Science of Life and earth in the Faculty of Sciences of Tunis (FST) from September 2000 to August 2004, during these years I studied mainly Ecology, Biology Botany, and Geology to get my Bachelor’s Degree. From September 2004 to June 2005, I started my Master 1 in Ecology_Biology of populations at the FST. Within the framework of a Master's diploma, I began my career as a researcher in Ecology/Forestry since June 2005 (Master 2), in Laboratoire de Gesion et Valorisation de Resources Forestières, in Institut National de Recherches en Génie Rural Eaux, et Forêts (INRGREF, Tunisia), to study the bio-ecology of Orgyia trigotephras (Insect, Lepidoptera) and I continued my research to study interactions between this insect and its host plants to obtain my PhD in Biology in May 2016. Since November 2017 until today, I’m a Researcher (Assistant Professor) in the laboratory of Forest Ecology at INRGREF. My work in forestry at INRGREF allowed me to present, since 2007 more than 60 Nationals and Internationals communications. To publish since 2010 in collaboration, more than 56 publications in journals with impact factor, indexed journals, proceeding, technical reports, chapter in book and books. To be a reviewer for more than 20 journals. Through my studies, training and research, I have acquired a solid knowledge with forest ecology, mainly on Mediterranean maquis, Pine, oak and Acacia tree species, to work in the field, design experimental protocols, conduct experiments, acquire results at an ecological and biological levels. I worked on biodiversity of ecosystem, the species distribution and their abundance, diversity indices of shrub species in the north of Tunisia with oak forests in the north-western and maquis in the north-eastern. The budburst of these species and its relationship with Lepidoptera outbreaks. The effect of CC on the distribution of defoliators. The interactions between these plant species and defoliators. I also worked in the arid zone of Tunisia on Acacia/Vachellia species. This experience allowed me to work closely with the General Direction of Forestry in the forest protection. Also I had the opportunity to be as AD HOC Members for the EPPO EWG for Pest Risk Analysis. I also participated at several programs on IPM, forest protection Sustainable Development Management forest and Biosphere Reserves. From 2009 to 2015, I held the position of assistant at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences et Technologies de l'Environnement (ISSTE). I taught several themes mainly of Biodiversity and Biology. My experience as a Researcher at the INRGREF and as a teacher at ISSTE developed my skills in analyzing data, preparing presentations, writing reports, training, moderating and organizing workshops and has enabled me to acquire strong skills for teaching, supervising post-graduated, MSc and PhD students, research and the dissemination of knowledge.
