Xuan Zhou (M'14) received B.S. degree in metal material manufacturing from the Taiyuan University of Technology, Shanxi, China, in 2002; the M.S. degree in materials physics from Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi, China, in 2005; and the Ph.D. degree in automotive system engineering from the University of Michigan–Dearborn, Dearborn, MI, USA. He is currently an Assistant Professor associated with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Kettering University, Flint, MI, USA. He has published more than 30 papers and holds two patents. His research interests include battery material design and manufacturing, battery modeling and simulation on electric vehicles, etc. Dr. Zhou received the 2014 Kettering Faculty Research Fellowship for his work on the development of battery for renewable energy storage and the Outstanding New Research Award of Kettering University in 2016.
