I am an Associate Professor at the Biomedical Informatics Group housed in the School of Computing at the University of South Alabama (South). In May 2007, I received the Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of South Carolina, under Dr. Michael N. Huhns. Prior to my current position, I was an Assistant Professor at Benedict College and a Research Specialist at the Medical University of South Carolina, respectively. My research areas are: Bioinformatics and Biomedical Informatics; Data Semantics and Web Data; and Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, with a unifying theme of the semantics and analysis of data as well as their innovative applications on human genomics and transcriptomics. Our research is supported by NIH, NSF, and DOE.
