Adolfo Renzi

Prof. Adolfo Renzi graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1996 at the Second University of Naples and specialized in General Surgery in 2002 at the same University, where he also obtained a PhD in "Nutrition and Health: Biotechnologies and Methodologies Applied to Digestive Pathophysiology "in 2006. The training in colon proctology was gained, as a researcher, at the Department of Colorectal Surgery of the Cleveland Clinic Florida, USA, in 2000. Author of several scientific papers, published in the most prestigious journals international, Prof. Adolfo Renzi has carried out clinical activity at the Second University of Naples dealing mainly with Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Postoperative Early Nutrition. He is currently the Chief of the Group of General, Colonproctological and Bariatric Surgery of the Villa delle Querce Clinic in Naples. In addition, he was President of the Italian Unitary Society of Colonproctology (SIUCP) and Auditor of the Italian College of Surgeons. In 2017 he obtained the National Qualification for University teaching as Associate Professor of General Surgery. The professional activity of Prof. Adolfo Renzi is mainly oriented to the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of general surgical interest (abdominal hernias, gallbladder stones, gastroesophageal reflux disease, gastric diseases), bariatric (obesity surgery with interventions such as sleeve gastrectomy and gastric by-pass) and coloproctological oncological (colon cancer and rectal cancer) and functional (hemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, abscesses, diverticulitis, condylomas) type. Specific skills in the treatment of pelvic compartment pathologies (rectal prolapse, rectocele, multi-organ pelvic prolapse, obstructed defecation syndrome) with pioneering experience that makes Prof. Adolfo Renzi an internationally recognized "opinion leader" in this field.
