Bio
Cristiano Leite de Castro received a B.S. degree in Computer Science (2001), an M.Sc. (2004), and a Ph.D. degree (2011) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. Since 2014, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at UFMG.
His research interests involve theoretical aspects and applications of machine learning and data science. He is also a co-founder and associate researcher of the Machine Intelligence and Data Science (MINDS) Lab at UFMG. The MINDS lab comprises researchers, graduate and undergraduate students investigating problems related to data analytics and optimization, such as coronary heart disease risk modeling, vision-based UAV localization, semantic segmentation of satellite and UAV images, data-driven solutions for the dynamic vehicle routing problem, modeling of sensor data in the context of Industry 4.0, among others.
