Stéphane Nicolau

Stéphane Nicolau received the engineering diploma from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Physique de Strasbourg, France (recently renamed the Telecom Physic Strasbourg) and the Ph.D. degree in 2004 while working under the supervision of Nicholas Ayache at INRIA Sophia Antipolis, Valbonne, France, in the ASCLEPIOS team. In 2004, he joined the Virtual Reality team of the Institut de Recherche contre les Cancers de lAppareil Digestif (IRCAD) at Strasbourg as a Researcher. In 2009, he headed the medical imaging research team at the newly established centre at IRCAD Taiwan. He returned to IRCAD France in 2011 and currently supervises the research and development. His research interests include medical augmented reality, medical image processing, 3-D modeling of anatomical deformations, calibration of vision systems, and validation of medical guidance systems.
