Bio
Godelieve Deblonde received the B.S. degree in meteorology and the M.S. degree in applied mathematics from McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 1980 and 1981, respectively, the M.S. degree in meteorology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, in 1984, and the Ph.D. degree in atmospheric physics from the University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada, in 1990.
She was with the Atmospheric Environmental Research, Inc., Cambridge, MA, from May 1984 to August 1986. In September 1990, she was with the Canada Center for Remote Sensing, Ottawa. In April 1993, she was with the Data Assimilation and Satellite Meteorology Section, Atmospheric Science and Technology Branch, Environment Canada, Dorval. Her research interests include passive and active microwave remote sensing (including ground and space-based GPS meteorology) and radiative transfer theory in the context of data assimilation for numerical weather prediction. She is currently at the Environment Canada, Atmospheric Science and Technology Directorate, Dorval.
Dr. Deblonde is a member of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society, the American Meteorological Society, and the American Geophysical Union.
