Career Trajectory
Bio
I am a researcher who is active at the interface between physical chemistry, materials science, engineering, and data science.
My expertise is combining theory, computation/simulation, big data analyses, and visualization to help improve our understanding of physicochemical processes on an atomic scale (e.g., guest diffusion and intercalation in host materials) and to help improve predictions of scientifically and/or technologically important, but challenging, properties (e.g., absolute solute precipitate nucleation rates). During my more than 13 years of active research experience, I have lived and worked in many different countries (Sweden, The Netherlands, France, UK, USA), and I have worked with many diverse research groups and teams. I am actively supporting key scientific principles such as open access (OA) publishing by writing blogs and by advocating for these principles among my fellow researchers. Furthermore, I am engaged in mechanisms to foster diversity and inclusion in the academia and our society at large, for example, by having assumed leadership positions in our postdoc union at University of California, Santa Barbara, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
