Per earned his doctorate from the University of Copenhagen and did his post doctorate with Richard Hudson at UC Irvine. Per uses population genetics/omics in ecology and evolution. Per has worked as faculty at; the School of Biological Sciences (University of Bangor), Environmental Science, Policy and Management & Museum of Vertebrate Zoology (UC Berkeley), Department of Genetics, Microbiology and Toxicology (University of Stockholm) and Organismic & Evolutionary Biology (Harvard University).
