Broadly, I am interested in the interacting effects of environmental and intrinsic factors on individual behaviour and fitness, and their consequences for processes at the population level. I also have strong interest in the application of behavioural and population ecology in conservation and policy work.

My current research focuses on the effects of environmental variation and direct human activities on the foraging ecology, movements and spatial distributions of seabirds throughout their annual cycle, and the consequences for population dynamics. This work involves the use of diverse bio-logging and statistical modelling techniques, and contributes to the identification and protection of key areas for seabirds around breeding colonies and at their wintering grounds.
