Dr. Nikolay Bugrov has more than 30 years experience in retrospective radiation dosimetry and gamma-ray spectrometry; over 18 years he is head of Whole Body Counter group for in vivo investigations of Sr-90, Cs-137 and K-40 body burden for Urals population affected by the several accidents at Mayak, a plutonium production site for nuclear weapons and nuclear fuel reprocessing plant in the Soviet Union. He is the author and coauthor of over 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications, conference papers and reports. He has participated in several international scientific projects. He lectures Radiation Protection, Biological Effects of Ionizing Radiation and Radiation Safety at the “Southern Urals regional expert-certification scientific-technical center of nuclear radiation safety”. He worked as the invited scientist at Institute of Radiation Protection (Munich, Germany) and Center for Applied Dosimetry at the University of Utah (Salt Lake City, USA) several times. He is associate member of the Health Physics Society.
