Abstract
In recent era, carbon nanotubes have gained lot of interest among pharmaceutical scientists and researchers due to their attractive properties such as unique structure, high surface area, high loading capacity and ease of modifications. Physiological applications of CNTs are limited due to their inadequate dispersibility and solubility in various solvents. A wide range of surface modifications to CNTs have been employed to improve their dispersibility/solubility. Apart from improving dispersibility/solubility, these surface enhancements impart special features to CNTs. The present chapter presents a comprehensive summary on solubility enhancement methods of CNTs and their effects on solubility/dispersibility of CNTs.
