Green Synthesis of Ag@AgCl Nanoparticles Using Purple Cam Leaf: Characterization and Catalytic Activity

One of the development directions in the nanotechnology field is the synthesis of nanoparticles in the direction of green synthesis. In this study, Ag@AgCl nanoparticles were synthesized via the chemical reduction method using purple Cam leaf extract as reducing and capping/stability agents. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, field emission scanning electron microscope and UV–Vis techniques. The results XRD contributed to the Ag@AgCl nanoparticles were successfully synthesized with an average diameter of 15 nm. The ratio of Ag and AgCl depends on the volume of AgNO 3 used. Raman spectroscopy indicates different group functions responsible for reducing agents and stabilizers in the reaction. The analysis by UV–vis spectra confirmed the formation of Ag@AgCl nanoparticles following the Lambert–Beer theorem and stabilize after 20 days. The Ag@AgCl nanoparticles exhibited the catalysis activity of decomposing red Congo, which is 6–31 times that of reaction without using catalysis.
