37‐3: Student Paper: Method of Color Amplitude‐Only Hologram Generation for Speckle Noise Suppression

In this paper, a calculation method of color amplitude‐only computer‐generated hologram (CGH) that can suppress speckle noise is proposed. Firstly, the amplitude information of the red, green and blue channels of the object is extracted. Secondly, to reduce the speckle noise, the convolution result of the amplitude information with a constrained random phase is used as the complex amplitude distribution of the object. Then, the multi‐frame amplitude‐only CGHs for each color channel of the object are generated by using the modified double‐step Fresnel diffraction algorithm. Finally, the digital micromirror device is used to refresh the multi‐frame amplitude‐only CGHs, and the speckle noise is suppressed by using the time‐averaging method. The validity of the computational method is verified.
