摘要
•Type of Study: Retrospective single-center hospital based cancer registry study: Includes all primary diagnosed 574 cases of head and neck cancer, registered between January 1, 2016–December 31, 2020. Patients' socio-demographic characteristics, clinic-pathological details and pattern of care of patients were extracted from medical records.•Primary Endpoints: Evaluation of the demographic profile: Median age at diagnosis was 56 years (range 24–91), out of which 37.6% (n = 216) of the patients were aged more than 60 years. Majority of the patients were men 87% (n = 498) and tobacco chewers 85% (n = 487). Majority of the patients in each site presented in advanced stage. The treatment intent was curative in 80% and palliative for 20%.•Secondary Endpoint: Includes overall survival and impact of clinicopathological and sociodemographic features on the survival pattern. The median follow up period was 21.0 months. After 18 months of follow up 58.5% of the cases survived. There was no statistical significant difference in survival between men and women and patients aged below and above 60 years. Advanced stage at presentation, grade III histological differentiation, presence of LVI, N stage specially N2/N3 and palliative treatment were associated with poor outcomes.
