摘要
This paper proposes optimal Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC) and Communication link placement in distribution networks for optimal locations of micro-PMUs (μPMUs). The formulation consists of PDC cost and communication link cost. The problem formulation is solved with two different optimization methods: the proposed mathematical deterministic algorithm and the evolutionary-based Binary Carnivorous Plant Algorithm (BCPA). In deterministic way, phase-wise PDC and communication link placement are executed. The initial phase of the deterministic approach bounds the PDC number to one. The PDC number is increased by one at the subsequent phases, and the optimal cost is found. For a small distribution system, the proposed deterministic approach is suitable where the numbers of PDCs are bounded. A case study on IEEE 34 bus system is performed to show the efficacy of the proposed methodology.
