3D Acoustic-Elastic Full-Waveform Inversion and Migration of Marine VSP Data from Norway
Second International Meeting for Applied Geoscience & Energy(2022)
摘要
Summary We demonstrate an application of three-dimensional (3-D) acoustic-elastic coupled Full-Waveform Inversion (FWI) to deviated Rig-source Vertical Seismic Profile (R-VSP) data from the Fenja Field in Norway, to advance our understanding of subsurface structure. We perform 3-D Reverse-Time Migration (RTM) of the data using the inverted wave speed models. The RTM re-sults show that the structures in our 3-D compressional speed ( V P ) image are a better match with those obtained from surface seismic imaging, compared to the legacy 2-D ray-based migration image. The resolution of our shear wave speed ( V S ) image is higher than that of the V P image due to the smaller reflection angle of P -to- S converted waves compared to that of P -to- P reflections. Our V S and density ( ρ ) images yield additional structural information.
