Facile Synthesis of Mn Doped Bi2S3 Photocatalyst for Efficient Degradation of Organic Dye under Visible-Light Irradiation

The development of high performance photocatalyst with wider visible light adsorption, photo electrochemically stable and good efficient charge separation is highly desire for clean energy applications in recent days. Herein, a simple hydrothermal method is used to successfully prepare Mn doped Bi 2 S 3 nanoflowers using different dopant concentration ranging from 1% to 3%. The X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and ultra-violet spectroscopic technique were used to study the physicochemical and morphological characterization of as-prepared materials. While the charge separation and recombination processes were investigated with help of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and photo transient response. Further, we investigated the photodegradation studies of rhodamine B (RhB) dye under visible light illumination using Mn doped Bi 2 S 3 -based nanostructures. Results shows that the 3% Mn doped Bi 2 S 3 nanostructure exhibits superior degradation studies. Finally the photocatalysis degradation mechanism is also studied in detail. We believe, this work will open a new direction for readers to develop highly efficient photocatalysts for resolve water pollution issue.
