Solubility measurement, correlation and dissolution thermodynamics properties of marbofloxacin in binary solvents

•The solubility of marbofloxacin in binary solvents was measured by a dynamic laser monitoring method.•Experimental data was correlated with the modified Apelblat, λh, and NRTL models.•A model proposed by Jain et al. was employed to estimate the fusion enthalpy of marbofloxacin.•The dissolution behavior of marbofloxacin in different binary solvent systems was discussed.•Ethanol + water solvent system is considered to be the most suitable crystallization reagent.
