Controlling the Motion of an Aerodynamic Pendulum with an Elastically Fixed Suspension Point

Abstract
The dynamics of an oscillatory wind power plant whose working element is an aerodynamic pendulum with an elastically fixed suspension point is considered. The stability of the along the flow equilibrium position and the possibility of stabilizing/destabilizing this position by changing the radius of the gyration of the pendulum and the coefficient characterizing the damping in the system and the load in the electrical circuit are investigated. A numerical study of periodic regimes is carried out. The effect of these parameters on the domain of the existence of these modes is analyzed. It is shown that for a sufficiently small radius of inertia, the along the flow position is asymptotically stable and globally attractive. An algorithm for controlling the radius of inertia is proposed that provides the damping of system oscillations in the case when the flow velocity exceeds a certain specified value, as well as destabilization of the along the flow equilibrium and transition to the oscillatory mode when the flow velocity decreases to acceptable values.
