Abstract
The voices and opinions of people living with severe intellectual disability (ID) who are functionally nonverbal (FNV) and/or have complex communication needs (CCN) are often excluded from projects that concern them as well as from research projects about them. This research note details how one community-based research project included the opinions and voices of this cohort. It details the methodology and process, including its challenges and successes in the research and design of an adult-sized playground.
