Y2o3-Nb/Y2o3 Gradient Material

Y2O3-Nb/Y2O3 gradient material was prepared by one step forming and one step sintering, and then was characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS. The results indicate that there are only Y2O3 phase and Nb phase besides the gas phase in the gradient material, and that Nb distributes in the Y2O3 base with flakes and dispersed particles. The three-point flexural strength of Y2O3-Nb/Y2O3 gradient material was tested at room temperature, which was found to be higher than that of Y2O3 and Y2O3-Nb composites, indicating that Y2O3 gradient layer and Y2O3 matrix composite have high bonding strength.
