The paper generalized present research. status of generation mechanism of biogenic coalbed methane and the latest developments of stimulation experiment on biogenic coalbed methane at home and abroad. According to the composition of coalbed gas and isotopic compositions, the causes of gas are the main method at present. However, this method is also in dispute. Based on laboratory studies, the influencing factors of the biogenic coalbed methane generation were summarized. The factors mainly included microorganism, geological conditions of coal bed, formation water and hydrological conditions.
