The Yellow River dike is not only the main safeguard facility but also the important and indispensable routes for flood controlling. To defense the Yellow River flood is always attached great importance by our country and our party. Since P. R. China founded, the Yellow River dike has been widened and heightened for four times and the section of dikes changed correspondently. The roads on top of dikes underwent the structures of earth style, mortar, graval, pitch, et al. And top of dike underwent the structures of weir, concrete drainage (fieldworks), water barrier drainage, et al. the slope of dike underwent the planting of trees, grasses, tree cutting and maintaining trees of shoulders of dike, trees at front of river and trees on alluvial dike as well as trees in safeguard field, et al. It is necessary to study the structure of dike section and safeguard measurement to ensure safety of flood control and decrease the maintenance workload in order to maintain dike integrated and establish the abundant dike engineering in flood control, ecology, traffic and cultural contents. To regulate the management of dike and promote modern development of dike management and ensure safety of dike we studied and analyzed dike section and safe guard measurement in plan, design and construction as well as management by large amount of investigation of the Yellow River dike status and exiting problems, and we put forward concrete index and managing standard by terms of practice in order to offer technology support for the Yellow River dike construction and management.
