Researches on corporate citizenship often focus on ethics, however, corporate citizenship behaviors are not purely altruistic, but also seek mutual benefits in business operations and strategic management. In other words, corporate citizenship behaviors can be regarded as non-market business strategies to achieve business goals through the accumulation of social capital. In this paper, the authors discuss corporate citizenship path selection based on non-market strategies in hi-tech firms. The authors stress that corporate citizenship behaviors contribute for enterprises to develop competitive advantage.
