桂糖43号和桂糖44号是广西农业科学院甘蔗研究所选育的甘蔗优良新品种,根据广西区域试验结果,两个品种的产量、糖分和宿根性表现均优于对照新台糖22号;2016/2017年榨季和2017/2018年榨季桂糖43号和桂糖44号分别累计种植面积7.07和52.12万亩;2017年在崇左扶绥、金光农场、桂中农场示范种植,两个品种的平均产量均高于7吨.
