Ethyl formate fumigation and ethyl formate plus cold treatment combination as potential phytosanitary quarantine treatments of Drosophila suzukii in blueberries
Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology(2021)
Abstract
•Spotted wing drosophila (SWD) is a major phytosanitary trade barrier of berries.•Egg was the most tolerant life stage of SWD toward ethyl formate (EF) fumigation.•EF effectively controlled SWD eggs with no noticeable damage on blueberry appearance.•Combination of low dose EF and cold treatment was also effective for SWD control.
