Abstract
•SMCT specimen was proposed to study dynamic behavior of crack crossing bimaterial interface.•Impact tests were conducted by using the SMCT specimens under SHPB impact.•The effects of interface roughness and loading speed on crack dynamic behavior were investigated.•The AUTODYN code was applied in the simulation of crack propagation behavior in the SMCT specimen.•The crack propagation gauges were used to measure the crack propagation speed, and the dynamic fracture toughness was calculated by ABAQUS code.
