Corticosteroid-resistant Sweet Syndrome in the Setting of Acute Myeloid Leukemia with Monosomy 7 and 5q Deletion
JAAD case reports(2020)
Abstract
Sweet syndrome (SS), otherwise known as acute neutrophilic febrile dermatosis, typically manifests in the fourth or fifth decade of life and is characterized by fever and a cutaneous eruption of painful erythematous and edematous papules, plaques, or nodules.1,2 Histopathologically, the cutaneous manifestation is characterized by a predominant neutrophilic dermal infiltrate with associated papillary dermal edema.1 Three subtypes of SS have been recognized in the literature: classic, malignancy associated and drug induced.
