Evolving Applications of Aerosol Sealant

Building materials and practices evolve over time to meet the changing needs of the residential building industry. These needs are based on code changes, customer expectations, and the cost of materials and labor. Technical solutions are needed to enable builders to meet these changing needs and deliver high-performance, energy-efficient homes. In some cases, this may mean developing a new building technology. In other cases, the issues facing the residential building industry can be solved through new, innovative applications of existing high-performance technologies. In this way, the tools, materials, and technologies previously developed to solve earlier industry issues can be adapted for new uses. Further, building on previous work, this can reduce the time needed for the research and development phase, and the technology can enter the field validation phase more quickly. Of course, there will be research questions and integration issues to address with any new application of an existing technology.
