摘要
Perovskite oxides with general formula ABO(3) remain prominent because of the broad diversity of properties they exhibit. Amongst all, BaTiO3 (BTO) is most preferred due to its stable structure with high degree of functionality. Doped BTO is widely studied because of its ferroelectricity and transition to semiconducting behavior upon suitable doping. Here, we report on the effect of Fe doping on the structural, electrical and optical properties of Ba0.95La0.05Ti1-xO3 (BLTO) ceramic samples. Samples with x = 0.0 to 1.0 in step of 0.25 were synthesized by solid state route. X-ray diffraction revealed a crystallographic phase transition from tetragonal to cubic phase upon Fe doping at Ti site. Frequency dependent dielectric constant value is also measured at room temperature. The optical reflectance has been investigated to studied the band gap energy of Fe doped BLTO near IR region. The increase in Fe concentration results decrease in band gap energy. The overview of the results indicates the change in the properties can be controlled with Fe concentration.
