摘要
Compared with the methods to modify the activated carbons by alkalis for gas adsorption, fewer studies of that by organic acids have been reported. The acid modified activated carbons are usually utilized to treat wastewater, whereas the application in the separation of CO2/CH4 has less been studied. In this study, acetic acid was used to modify activated carbon. N-2 adsorption/desorption isotherms and FT-IR were adopted to describe the properties of the samples. According to the adsorption data of pure gas component at 298 K, the gas adsorbed amount and the selectivity on the modified samples were larger than that on the raw sample. Besides, the adsorbed amount of CO2 and the selectivity on 15H-AC in the adsorption breakthrough experiments showed better performance. The results confirm that the method to modify the activated carbons with acetic acid is feasible to improve the adsorption capacity and the separation effect of CO2/CH4.
