K-SHELL IONIZATION CROSS SECTIONS OF Ti, Cr, Ni, Cu, AND Zr IN COLLISIONS WITH O-16 IONS AT MeV/u ENERGIES

Using the 9 MV Van de Graaff Tandem accelerator of IFIN-HH, integral shell ionization cross sections of Ti, Cr, Ni, Cu and Zr by O-16 ions in the energy range of 0,5-3 MeV/u have been determined. By the energy and yield shifts method, outer-shell multiple ionization is analyzed. L- and M-shell multiple ionization probabilities per electron are estimated and compared with the geometrical model predictions. The experimental cross sections are compared with calculations using the semi-classical approximation (SCA), in the united atom (UA) and separated atom (SA) limits, as well as the ECPSSR model calculations. The ECPSSR calculations are in close proximity to data, although slightly higher.
