Abstract
Herbal treatments are becoming increasingly popular, as the herbal preparations have no or least side effects than synthetic drugs. In our present study, the various parts of medicinal plants (Abutilon indicum, Balanites egyptiaca, Caesalpini bonduc) are used in Ayurvedic and other folk medicines for the treatment of various diseases. This study was designed to evaluate the phytochemical and antimicrobial activities of medicinal plants extracted by the soxhlet extraction method with various solvents. The extracts of these various plants shows the antimicrobial activity against various micro-organisms and have effective for the treatments of alimentary canal, bronchitis, diarrohoea, inflammation , cough, skin, insect bite, abdominal pain, gastro-intestinal complaints and for proper regulation of menstrual flow etc.
