Production and characterization of catechin-loaded electrospun nanofibers from Azivash gum- polyvinyl alcohol.

L gum- polyvinyl alcohol nanofibers were prepared using electrospinning.•Electrospinning process parameters were optimized in Response Surface Methodology.•Catechin encapsulated according to optimum process parameters through electrospinning.•500 and 1000 mg L−1 catechin level suggested as optimum for nanofiber formulation.•Optimum nanofibers can be applied as active food packaging.
