Abstract
We provide information on all birds known to date at Ypeti Private Nature Reserve and Estancia Golondrina. We reviewed all ornithological records from 1997 to 2017, totaling 348 bird species for the area. Habitat preferences and relative abundance for each species are detailed. The avifauna of Ypeti is composed of 58 Atlantic Forest endemics. At least 4 species are threatened and 9 are near-threatened, including Celeus galeatus, Amazona vinacea, and Pteroglossus bailloni. Brief comments are provided on the records of each of these species. The avifauna of the reserve is fourth in terms of species richness in the Atlantic Forest domain of Paraguay, and sixth in presence of endemics to this threatened biome.
