Expatriates and the city: The spatialities of the high-skilled migrants’ transnational living in Moscow

•Spatialities of the expatriates’ transnational living in Moscow are examined.•Settlement structure of expatriates has a scattered pattern without clear clusters.•Expats tend to fuse with locals, at the neighbourhood, building, and apartment levels.•This outcome is linked to multifaceted and middling nature of transnational migration.•The possible influence of the home-host contextual divide is discussed.
