Preventive Conservation Of Thangkas In The Buddha Hall Of The West Warm Chamber Of The Mental Cultivation Hall, Palace Museum, Beijing

The superb thangkas in the Buddha hall of the west warm chamber in Mental Cultivation Hall (MCH) were built in the Qianlong period (1711–1799) of the Qing dynasty, a golden age for thangkas. These thangkas not only constitute world heritage, but they are testament to the intangible cultural heritage of preserving skills for their manufacture. Preventive conservation research on these thangkas is of great significance.
