Abstract
whites.Patients with cirrhosis were less likely to get any intervention for AMI including angioplasty (24.5% vs 45.3%, p<0.001), drug eluting stent (10.6 vs 29.0%, p<0.001), bare metal stent (11.4 vs 13.7%, p<0.001), thrombolytics (0.8% vs 1.2%, p<0.001) compared to non-cirrhosis patients. Results were similar for use of any intervention after adjusting for confounders (OR: 0.55, 95% CI: 0.44 -0.56, p<0.001) and cirrhosis patient had significantly higher mortality rate (12.3% vs 5.3%, p<0.001;OR: 2.15, 95% CI: 1.85 -2.50, p<0.001).Other predictors of outcomes are shown in figure. Conclusion: Cirrhosis is associated with lower utilization of treatment/intervention rate and higher inpatient mortality in AMI patients.Further studies are required to evaluate hypothesis.Predictors for inpatient mortality and utilization of intervention.
