Abstract
In t he paper,to ascertain taxonomic status of pathogen,Capsicum chinense Jacquin samples with little leaf symptom which were suggestive of phytoplasma infection, were detected by molecular biology.Primers R16mF2/R16mR1 and R16F2n/R16R2 were used to amplify the DNA samples from symptoms above by nested PCR.The PCR products were sequenced and Blast searching in GenBank. The phylogenetic tree and iPhyClassifier analysis of the 16S rDNA sequences showed that the sequence shared the identity of 99% with that from Peanut witches'-broom(L33765),and clustered in the same clade, with similarity coefficient of 1.00.The phytoplasma belonged to 16S rII-A subgroup, was tentatively named as Capsicum chinense Jacquin little-leaf disease phytoplasma,CcJLL.
